Today was initially planned as a weights training day, Back & Biceps, however it simply did not turn out like that! It’s the Friday of the October bank-holiday weekend here in Ireland and I like most other young professionals was planning on getting out of the capital and travelling home for the weekend. Instead of my usual bus route to work I decided to walk to and from work which takes around 25 minutes each way. This means that when I get home I only need to close out my weights session…nicely planned FacelessFitGuy! 🙂
I even got out of work early at 2 pm, to get on the road before the big traffic rush! thing going very well at this point! I’ve packed my supplements and gym gear and going to check out some gyms at home over the weekend!
Packed and ready I get on the road, unfortunately when I got on to the M50 motorway I ended up stuck around 200 metres behind a five car pile up. Luckily no-one was seriously injured but it took around 1 hour 30 minutes to clear, which in a funny kind of way meant that it was now 5 pm before I started moving again, which is rush hour bank-holiday Friday traffic. FML.
Anyway between the jigs and the reels a 3 hour journey took me 5 and a half hours. No training for me today! As you can see sometimes things are outside of your control and luckily no one was seriously hurt. I will move my gym session for Back and Biceps to tomorrow instead of a rest day!
